About Me

Hi ya’ll, Lesley Shannon here. If  you don’t know me yet, keep reading because I am pretty darn swell, or at least my mom thinks so.

I am a Mississippi born actress, singer, writer, podcaster, and producer. I may look like Patricia Clarkson, Julianne Moore, and Meryl Streep had a love child, but I am not related to any of these wonderful women (although if they want me to play their sister or daughter in anything, have them visit my contact page). I am likely to be cast an uptight stickler, the quirky love interest, or a woman on a mission, but I am more accurately like Kimmy Schmidt with the mouth of a sailor.

I studied music at the University of Southern Mississippi, and then moved to the big Apple to attend Stella Adler Studio of Acting. I can be seen in such TV shows as Six Degrees of Murder (don’t blink you might miss me) and The Haunting of Kesha, finally realizing my God given pigmentally challenged potential as a ghost. I worked with Joel Schumacher too, he was amazeballs! While I am tooting my own horn,I am proud to be one of the founding members of Secondhand Theatre Company that creates collaborative content inspired by what is happening in the world. I wrote and starred in a mini musical short called Awesome Day, which is actually about a terrible day; I know, I know, I am so clever. I also co-host a podcast called Nothing Shines Like Dirt ,encouraging others to find their creative spark and make their own opportunities.

If you are still reading this, in the words of Elvis Presley, “Thank you, thank you very much!” Now on to the intimate stuff! I am an empath so acting is the perfect career for me, just ask my husband how many commercials I cry at on a daily basis (hint: it is probably more than 3). I love creating comedic films and theatre as a way to bring insight to the human condition and help people to confront topics they would otherwise not consider. I have an incredible and loving husband who helps me to realize daily that there is so much good in the world, and I have an obsession with furry,or not so furry things, that are cute.

So, if you read this and thought, “Man she is awesomesauce! I want to be her friend forever and cast her in all of my projects,” then join Streep, Clarkson and Moore and visit my contact page!

Warmest and silliest regards,

Lesley
